JP and Tiffany had their wedding this summer, and despite having to alter their guest list and reception location, they were able to have a beautiful wedding that was special to them and to their families. Tiffany got ready at her childhood home while JP got ready at a nearby hotel. The ceremony took place at Soundview Caterers in Bayville, NY on a patio overlooking the sound that made for some gorgeous photos. The reception was in the backyard of Tiffany’s childhood home and included some beautiful speeches, first dances and some amazing gelato. Congratulations, JP and Tiffany!

Dori and Joe's Wedding (Manhattan, NY)

Dori and Joe had an intimate, family-only wedding in Manhattan in July. The couple were married at The Church of St. Paul the Apostle near Lincoln Center. Due to Covid regulations, the priest wore a face shield and guests wore masks while they sat in the first row of pews. Despite all of the Covid precautions and adjustments to their original plans, the wedding was absolutely beautiful and Dori and Joe truly made the most of their situation.

After the church ceremony, we walked through Central Park where we took some couple and family portraits and ended at Rosa Mexicano for a celebratory lunch, speeches, cake cutting, and a first dance on the sidewalk. Congratulations, Dori and Joe!

Paige and Eric's Wedding (Grafton, VT)

Paige & Eric chose The Grafton Inn in Grafton, Vermont for their cozy winter wedding. They got married on leap day of 2020 so this wedding was one of the last "normal" events any of us attended for quite a long time.

One of my favorite aspects of this wedding was all of the family history they incorporated into the day. Paige was the 4th bride in her family to wear her wedding gown. Before her, it was worn by her mother, her grandmother and her great grandmother (and never altered). Due to its age and the lace sleeves, the dress was extremely delicate and took the help of Paige’s mother, grandmother and twin sister to safely get her into it.

It also created a need for special accommodations while navigating the dirt driveway during Vermont mud season.

Paige and Eric’s day was such a special one and made for a great “last hurrah” before all of the weirdness of 2020 began. Congratulations, you two!

Alex and Kelsey's Wedding (Prince William Forest State Park, VA)

I traveled down to Virginia just outside of D.C. for Kelsey and Alex’s dreamy boho wedding at Prince William Forest State Park. Kelsey and Alex found me through their close friends Eryn and Donnie (see previous blog post for their Alabama wedding) and asked me to travel down for their celebrations in late October. I packed up my sleeping bag, warm clothes, and bug spray and hopped on a flight. Kelsey and Alex were super laid back and fun, and although they offered to pay for a hotel room I opted to really ingrain myself in the experience and camped out in one of the cabins on site. It was such a fun experience and such a beautiful evening full of love and some of the most impressive dance moves I’ve yet to see (scroll down to see Kelsey and Alex breaking it down to Beyoncé). Congratulations, Kelsey and Alex!

The Metropolitan Building in Long Island City, Queens is hands down the most interesting wedding venue I’ve been to. It’s an industrial warehouse from the early 1900s (once an electrical parts factory), and now is used to house beautiful antique furniture (you can read more about it here). It is a wedding photographers dream come true with velvet couches, high ceilings, antique chandeliers, and unique furniture and decor everywhere you turn. I could be happy photographing every wedding there.

Truly though, Andy and Micelys could have had their wedding in a prison or a cave and it still would have been a great time. I have had the pleasure of working alongside Andy for a few years and he is genuinely the best coworker and all around best human being - one of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. I met Micelys for the first time when planning for their wedding and she is just as sweet. They are absolutely made for each other. Congratulations, Andy and Micelys!

Venue: Metropolitan Building

Steve and Sabrina's Wedding (Queens, NY)

Steve and Sabrina combined their family traditions and cultures into one weekend full of celebration.

Steve and Sabrina combined their family traditions and cultures into one weekend full of celebration. The ceremony was a traditional Hindu marriage ceremony which was held on Friday at the first venue, Golden Terrace in Richmond Hill, Queens. Sabrina and Steve looked amazing in their traditional clothing and the rituals and celebration were beautiful and a completely new experience for me (they were very helpful with giving me documents and instruction ahead of time so that I knew what to expect). On Saturday, I joined the couple and their family and friends again for a reception at the Queens Museum. Here, Sabrina and Steve did a first look along with dances, speeches and other “traditional” American wedding reception things. Congratulations, Sabrina and Steve!

Ceremony Venue: Golden Terrace

Reception Venue: Queens Museum
